Today is the anniversary of my birth.

Do you ever wonder why you were born?

Vedanta is based on two simple propositions:

1) Human nature is divine.

2) The aim of human life is to realize that human nature is divine.

Today I’m going to take a bit of time and reflect on my true nature. And I encourage you to do the same. Sit in meditation, close your eyes, and start observing your thoughts as they come and go. Move your awareness towards the breath, and [silently] repeat the sound Hamsa. As our breath comes in, it makes the sound ham; and as it goes out, it makes the sound so or sa. These subtle vibrations exist within each and every inhalation and exhalation. This mantra is the awareness of “I am That.” Ham – “I am”; and sa or so – “That.”

With patience, and over time, you will realize your divine nature. Enjoy the journey….
Have a blessed day!

The Hamsa gāyatrī:
hamsa hamsāya vidmahe
paramahamsāya dhīmahi
tanno hamsah prachodayāt

Let us know Hamsa.
May that supreme Hamsa illumine our intellect.
May Hamsa protect us.
