Being “less grumpy” triggered the thought for someone that maybe there should be a mantra for each one of the Seven Dwarfs (of the Snow White variety). I agree.
After a little research (watching the original film of course), I’ve compiled a list of my mantra recommendations for each of the 7 Dwarfs, and one for Snow White too…
Doc – Om Eim Saraswatiyei Namaha
Doc was the smartest of the bunch, but working with this Saraswati—the Goddess of Wisdom—mantra would certainly help solidify his intelligence into the realm of true wisdom.
Happy – Aham Prema
Happy was truly the happiest dwarf, but to ensure his happiness was coming from a place of true openness, compassion & love, he could work with this mantra. Aham Prema means “I am Divine Love,” and opens oneself up to the purest form of Love imaginable. Pure happiness.
Sleepy – Om Shri Angarakaya Namaha
For a general lack of energy & motivation, Sleepy may benefit by working with this mantra for the planet Mars. Mars is all about energy & motion, so this mantra could be great to help him snap out of his funk. 🙂
Dopey – Om Shri Budhaya Namaha
Dopey doesn’t talk, and in fact he’s never even tried. This mantra for the planet Mercury would help Dopey boost his communication skills & intelligence, and may just give him the strength to start talking.
Grumpy – Hung Vajra Pay
To remove Grumpy’s negativity, this Vajrapani mantra is sure to turn that frown upside down. This mantra is great for pulling out negative energy, and leaving in its tracks a dynamic peace.
Bashful – Om Hum Hanumate Vijayam
Bashful is very timid, and lacks self-confidence. Tapping into Hanuman’s supernatural strength & confidence, this mantra will be great for Bashful to have the confidence to step out into the limelight.
Sneezy – Om Shri Dhanvantre Namaha
Coming down with a cold? Dhanvantre is the celestial healer, and could help Sneezy shed those chronic sneezes once and for all.
Snow White – Om Vakratundaya Hum
Taking a bite out of an apple, Snow White fell into a deep (yogic) sleep. The Dwarfs thought she was dead, and kept vigil at her side. This mantra can be thought of as a 911 call for Ganesha, the remover of obstacles. Vakratundaya, another name for Ganesha, refers to his bent trunk, and his ability to “straighten-out” any difficulties. This mantra is sure to help.
Everyone can benefit with a little mantra japa. Even Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
